Despite steady progress in improving social conditions, the country still faces massive challenges in reducing poverty, unemployment and increasing human development. The government continues to allocate more than 30% of its budget to social spending.
Angola continued with its main macroeconomic policy of reducing inflation, deepening international reserves, and increasing capital spending on infrastructure to promote economic diversification and poverty reduction. Already impacted by decreasing oil revenues, the Angolan economy was further hit by the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
