Africa Energy Investment Forum
Africa Energy
Investment Forum (AEIC)
Introduction
The Africa Energy
Investment Forum (AEIC) is a premier platform dedicated to fostering dialogue,
collaboration, and investment in Africa’s energy sector. Scheduled for April
20–22, 2026, at the Kigali Convention Centre in Kigali, Rwanda, the
forum will convene policymakers, investors, industry leaders, and development
partners under the theme: Mobilizing Capital for Africa’s Energy Future.
This event builds on the foundation of the Africa Energy Forum (AEF), a
globally recognized gathering that has consistently advanced energy development
across the continent.
Background: AEF and
AEIC
- Africa Energy Forum (AEF): Established as a leading annual meeting
point for stakeholders in Africa’s energy sector, AEF has successfully
connected governments, utilities, regulators, and private investors to
accelerate energy projects.
- Africa Energy Investment Forum (AEIC): AEIC expands on AEF’s mission by focusing
specifically on mobilizing capital and investment strategies tailored to
Africa’s unique energy challenges and opportunities. It emphasizes
financing mechanisms, public-private partnerships, and innovative solutions
to bridge Africa’s energy access gap.
Energy in Africa
Africa’s energy
landscape is characterized by both immense potential and pressing challenges:
- Vast renewable energy resources (solar,
wind, hydro, geothermal).
- Significant oil and gas reserves.
- Persistent energy access deficit, with
millions lacking reliable electricity.
- Growing demand driven by urbanization,
industrialization, and population growth.
Unlocking Africa’s
energy future requires substantial investment, innovative financing, and strong
collaboration between governments and the private sector.
About the Event
The AEIC 2026 will:
- Bring together over 1,000 delegates from
across Africa and globally.
- Feature keynote addresses, panel
discussions, and investment roundtables.
- Showcase energy projects seeking
financing.
- Provide networking opportunities for
investors, policymakers, and entrepreneurs.
Justifications for
the Event

demands that Africa leverage its renewable resources while balancing
traditional energy needs.
- Regional Integration: The forum promotes cross-border
collaboration, essential for building interconnected power systems and
regional energy markets.
- Policy Alignment: AEIC facilitates dialogue between
governments and investors, ensuring regulatory frameworks support
sustainable investment.
- Economic Growth: Energy is the backbone of
industrialization and job creation; AEIC supports Africa’s broader
development agenda.
